Yato’ Payomp was an orphan and a clumsy hunter who grew to become a wise man and eventually disappeared from the community and turned into the Eagle Harpy, the Father of all birds of prey. He lives inside the Payompepen mountain and, if hunters worship him, Payomp brings them good luck finding game and bringing food to their families.
Recorded in the Central Andean Amazon of Peru, 2005-06.
